The Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II Ultra Wide Tilt-Shift Lens is a refined photography tool, perfect for architectural images, interior shots and beautiful landscapes.
This 24mm wide-angle lens features high precision glass, which produces clean, sharp, colorful images with minimal distortion and high resolution.
There is very little need to worry about flare or chromatic aberration. Plus, with about 8.5 degrees of tilt and 12mm of shift, you will be able to capture your images in perfect perspective, even allowing you to keep the foreground and background in focus at the same time.
The mount rotates 90 degrees so you can shoot tilt and shift in either landscape or portrait mode.
The lens has a circular aperture, making it possible to create blurred highlights for a creative, unique and gorgeous image.
The Live View feature allows you to see what you’re doing while you’re manually focusing with the tilt feature.
For this reason, it’s probably best to use this lens with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II or the Canon EOS 7D. A tripod (most popular ones) is recommended for the best stability.

Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM Telephoto Lens Price – Click this link to save today $1,001.00 (44%)
This telephoto lens is ideal for shooting sports or wildlife. Canon created the EF 300mm with two Image Stabilizer (IS) settings, which compensates for camera shake by providing a shutter speed that can adjust two stops faster for any setting. This gives the EF 300mm an advantage for hand-held shooting.
This lens is powerful enough to get the long-distance shots you want, but still lightweight and top-quality for a telephoto lens. It also has a focusing distance of 4.9 feet, meaning that in the field you won’t have to worry about missing the shot, because you’ll have the advantage of sharp and fast focusing.
Pros of Canon Telephoto EF 300mm f/4.0L IS Lens:
- Superior Build Quality
- Fast Auto-Focus
- Super-Sharp Images
- Built In Lens Hood
The only downfall noted by professional photographers is that when the background is “busy,” the IS settings can cause the camera to “hunt.” When shooting birds in a tree or other fast-moving wildlife, you may want to bring a tripod or monopod.
Cons of Canon 300mm f/4.0L IS Image Stabilizer USM Autofocus Lens:
- Image Quality No Match For Old Ef 300 2.8l
- Loud Noise With Is
- Not Weather Sealed
- Slower Auto-Focus
Overall, the Canon EF 300mm lens is a lighter weight 2.62 lb (1.19 kg), easy to handle and affordable telephoto option.

This is a specialty lens made to alter product, food, fashion, or even creative portraiture by allowing a photographer to control the plane and field of focus. It makes a great addition for special applications, but is not a general-purpose lens.
Previous to the TS-E lens series, the tilt/shift settings could only be achieved with view cameras, and weren’t accessible to the digital world.
However, the manual focus of the camera works best with a camera that has live view settings.
Pros of Canon TS-E 45mm f/2.8 Tilt Shift Lens:
- Super-Sharp Images
- Superior Build Quality
- Tilt & Shift
Cons of Canon TS-E Tilt Shift 45mm f/2.8 Lens:

Photographers Review about Canon TS-E 45mm f/2.8 Tilt Shift Lens:

With this tilt and shift lens, you can transcend the normal depths of field and perspective. The Canon TS-E 90mm tilt shift lens is versatile, and allows any photographer endless creative possibilities for shooting portraits, fashion, products, or even landscapes and architecture.
The tilt and shift axes intersect at 90 degrees, giving the photographer the ability to alter the plane of focus. This will give any digital shot a “look” that previously only view cameras could achieve. The lens has a focus distance of 1.6 feet, and magnifies at 1/3 life size, making it flexible enough even for macro photography.
Pros of Canon Tilt Shift TS-E 90mm f/2.8 Lens:
- Super-Sharp Images
- Superior Build Quality
- Consistent output
- Durable
Manual focus on this lens is required, but image in the viewfinder is sharper than with its 45 mm counterpart. The viewfinder image is often bright enough that manually focusing shouldn’t be a problem.
Cons of Canon TS-E 90mm f/2.8 Tilt Shift Lens
- Another downside is that the tilt and shift of the lens cannot be focused separately, and must rotate together, so it’s a good idea to get exposure readings on a shot before adjusting the tilt and shift.
Best uses of Canon TS-E 90mm Tilt Shift Lens:
- Landscape/scenery
- Portraits
- Special effects
- Macro photography
- Video
This is a great option for any photographer seeking to expand their creative capabilities, or give their professional shots an “edge” to make them stand apart from most other digital shots.
Customer review:
This lens is a macro, a short telephoto, a portrait lens, and a landscape lens that offers new creative possibilities. Because depth of field can be manipulated as in a view camera, this is proving to be my most versatile lens in my bag, in spite of the fact it is “just” a 90mm prime lens. For macro shooting, even with an extension tube, additional depth of field possibilities open up with the tilt. The lens is a fantastic… (continue reading)

If you’re a digital SLR photographer seeking an ultra-wide angle zoom lens that can capture a lot of light, this is the lens for you. It’s incredibly versatile in its shooting range, and can focus as close as 11 inches (.28) meters.
The Canon EF 16-35mm is compact, but still provides superior image quality because it combines three aspherical elements with Canon’s renowned UD glass.
A wide angle lens like the Canon EF 16-35mm can fit most of your daily shooting needs, whether it’s wide-angle landscapes or portraiture.
With a fixed aperture at f/2.8, this is a great lens for shooting wide-open and often makes using a flash unnecessary, allowing you to shoot at a higher shutter speed for sharper images.
You also have the options of blurring the background images or using it for macro shooting, since the depth of field is so flexible.
Professional photographers have also rated the Canon EF 16-35mm as having incredible sharpness and color saturation.
At f/2.8 the plane of focus can be narrow, which will give your photos an edge and “Wow!” factor that you’ve been seeking.

- Super-Sharp Images

Photographer review about Canon 16-35mm f/2.8L Lens:
Modest improvement mostly for full frame users!
Many people have stated the facts about this lens. Instead of restating them, let me add what I use it for:
For nature photography, this is the only lens I need. Just put something pretty in the foreground (flowers, rocks, etc.) and let the lens magically stretch out the horizon to add drama and flair to the shot. Makes beaches MAGICAL… Makes forests imposing. Adds desolation to the desert.

This Canon EF 17-55 mm f/2.8 IS USM lens provides an impressive image quality through its entire zoom range, and has enough versatility to be any professional photographer or passionate amateur’s go-to “walkabout” lens.
It’s made with Canon’s Image Stabilizer (IS) technology, which compensates for lens shake automatically.
The combination of the lens’s wide zoom range, as well as its IS technology, make it a good purchase for someone who shoots a wide range of photography, from landscapes to portraits.
The large circular aperture is constant throughout the zoom at only f/2.8. This can provide a shallow depth of field, and the options to blur backgrounds.
The closest focusing distance is 1.15 feet, making it an ideal candidate for macro photography as well.
Pros of Canon USM 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens
- Accurate auto-focus (462)
- Consistent output
- Easily interchangeable
- Strong construction
Cons of Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens
- The downsides of this lens noted by professional photographers have to do with the make and construction of the lens.
- It’s not as well-sealed as some of its counterparts, and some photographers have noted problems with dust. This is due to the fact that it’s made of plastic, and not metal.
- Heavy 1.40 lb (635 g)

- Difficult to clean
- Lens creep

Macro photography can change your world. You can photograph the tiniest details of an insect’s legs, or capture a landscape within a flower. At its maximum magnification, the Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens will let you fill up a 35mm lens frame with just a grain of rice.
This macro lens is perfect for capturing unique photographs in the field, or for enhancing your product and advertising photography in ways you could previously only imagine.
This unique manual focus lens is designed just for macro photography, and allows you to shoot from life size (1x) to 5x life size.
The floating system preserves optical quality at different distances, and the lens is well-made with Canon’s famous UD glass.
Pros of Canon 65mm lens:
- Super-Sharp Images

- 5x
- Best Using Live View
- Breathtaking Magnification
Cons of Canon 65mm Macro lens:
- Difficult To Find Subject In Viewfinder
- Doesn’t Focus To Infinity
- Must Have Remote
- Must Have Ring Flash
- Must Have Tripod
The only issue with it may be that, at 5x magnification, the lens can get very dark and additional lighting may be required.
Using a tripod with this lens is also essential, since you may not have a steady enough hand for 5x magnification at a hand-held rate. However, shooting between 1x and 3x magnification in the field will still provide bright, interesting macro shots.

When it comes to an auto-focus macro lens at this range, it’s hard to beat this lens from Canon’s famous “L” series. This is the first mid-telephoto macro lens offered by Canon, and includes Image Stabilization (IS) technology. Having a mid-telephoto macro lens with IS can help you shoot handheld in the field, even in lower lit conditions.
IS lenses compensate for camera shake automatically by changing the stops on the camera settings. The IS and autofocus of this lend are done with near-silent Ultra-Sonic Motor (USM) technology, meaning that you won’t disturb the butterflies or insects that you’ll be photographing close up in the field.
The focus of this lens is precise, smooth and deliberate. The background blur, or “bokeh,” is incredibly smooth, with a circular blur due to the lenses’ spherical diaphragm. This lens creates sharp images even at handheld 1/40 shutter speed.
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM has an excellent build quality, which is consistent with the “L” series lenses in Canon’s premier line of professional quality lenses.
This macro lens is fixed at 100mm, but has a focusing distance of less than one foot. However, it does not magnify above 1x life size.
As with other macro lenses, you may want to shoot low-light subjects with a tripod for maximum sharpness.

Photographer review:
My walk around lens!
By definition, a walk around lens should be relatively portable. At 1.1 lbs., Canon’s EF 17-40mm f/4L USM is neither super light nor neck breakingly heavy. In fact, it weighs almost the same as Digital Rebel XTi — really nice balance. The lens feels very solid with supreme build quality that only L-series lenses offer. Although this lens is weather proof and therefore sealed against liquid and dust, I strongly recommend… (continue reading)

Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens Price – Click this link to save today minimum $250
A “fisheye” affect can add an interesting pop to any image by providing an ultra wide-angle lens view of more than 180 degrees. This is perfect for capturing images that occur beyond our natural range of vision, and instantly grab a viewer’s attention.
The small focusing distance of this lens, at only 8 inches, means that you can create a fisheye affect even in macro photography. This lens is known for being tack-sharp throughout its entire focal range.
Some noted problems with this lens include barrel distortion, which can easily be corrected in Photoshop, and may be barely noticeable in a panoramic. However, this lens does have a superior image quality, and can be just what you need to create the interesting shots that you’re seeking.
Pros of Canon 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens
- Super-Sharp Images
- Superior Build Quality
- Fast Auto-Focus
- So Much Fun
- Vibrant Colors
Cons of Fisheye Canon 15mm f/2.8 Lens
- Highly Unreliable Front Lens Cap
- Loose Lens Cap
- Metal Lens Cap Needs To Be Bent To Stay On
- Noisy Auto-Focus
- Pop Eye Design Vulnerable To Damage
- Best uses of Canon 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens
Photographer review:
Probably the best lens I own!
It’s sharp as a tack. It’s light weight. It’s very short (I call it the nub lens). And it’s autofocus is amazing. Very little barrel distortion… (continue reading here)

Wow, some of those Canon Lenses look very impressive. Thank you for the discount link!
Thank you for the Canon lens review about the 24-105mm f/4L Canon Lens. It really answered my questions.
I hate massive lenses like these. They are just not suitable for the average user. My friend uses the digital SLR’s and has all sort of attachments, including lenses like these and I just feel sorry for them standing there like some sort of paparazzi whilst trying to snap pictures of his kids in the park feeding the ducks. You have to give this type of equipement so much care and attention. If a bit of dirt gets into it then the camera can get broken and hundreds if not thousands of dollars of equipement can be ruined just like that. Not to mention how heavy they are. The normal camera user will not want to lugging stuff like that around on their holiday. It just ruins your fun. I think your money would be a lot better spent with a decent point and click with a variable automatic lens. They are quick, easy and fun to use and for most people take good enough pictures to capture those special moments. Anyway that is just my two cents worth, good review none the less.
Well Jo the point and click approach is definitely one way to do it but seriously you cannot compare the results of a point and click and a DSLR. There is no comparison. And I think that single benefit far out weighs the negatives you have outlined above. They are not heavy, they are not difficult to care for and they do not make you look like a pap. Instead, these lenses can turn a snap into a breathtaking image, a thing you will marvel at for years to come. The quality of the photographs taken on a quality camera is noticeably greater.
Andy, you’re absolutely right about this Canon Macro flash…
Hello, I have arrived at your site after looking for a new camera for myself. My old kodak has just died and I could really do with a new one. Its a good review of some obviously pretty amazing lenses. But I am normal camera user and I wouldnt know where to begin with one of these things. How many lenses would I need? Does one lens do everything or do I need to carry two to three around in my bag? Do the camera’s work without the lens? I feel like this is only for serious or professional photographers. Can an everyday user benefit from one of these for examples taking pictures at the kid’s school plays and birthday parties?
Why are you just comparing lenses surely more important than the lens is the actual camera. Most people buy the camera first then the lens so they in fact are already restricted to which lens they can buy as it has to fit with the camera they already have, so there is not really a lot choice.
As a professional photographer, I have just come on here to say that I am sick to death of people buying all the gadgets and thinking that just because they think they look the part that they are the part. Believe you me, the camera does not make the photographer. I studied photography for 3 years and have worked at under some of the best in the business before setting up my own studio a few years back. I have watched the evolution of camera especially over the last 5 years with excitement and horror. Now that most people can afford a high quality camera set up, most people have them. My line of business wedding photography, i get a lot of inquiries from people who are asking me to justify my very reasonable prices, when all they see is a person with a camera like their Uncle Robbie’s. Photography is not just a camera or a lens its and art form. To capture the essence of a moment requires not just a machine and some power but an attentions to detail and almost instinctive feeling for a moment that you either have or you don’t. Which if we are entirely honest only a few people have. By all means, buy your lenses, learn the terminology, take a few close up shots of a flower, but do not think you are suddenly going to get your photograph on the cover of Time Magazine, or that you now are some sort of authority of photography.
And DO NOT think that a professional photographer is someone with a very good camera we are a lot more than that.
What a great list of lenses! I’ll definitely be buying a Canon as my next camera, just because they have such a great selection of Canon eos lens.
You’ve given some great reviews, but I’m a novice and it’s a little overwhelming. What would you consider to be the best Canon Lens to start with?
