IMPORTANT: any changes to the names or locations of the raw files will prevent the edited catalog to sync back. While you wait for your order, do not rename or change the location of the raw files, don’t mess with the folders containing your raw files, do not change their location. When you receive the edited catalog back, it needs to sync back to the raw files.
Open Lightroom and go to the Library module in group view (press the key G)
1. You can include fully edited anchor images (optional), but at least apply your preset to a few images and label them either with 5 stars or a color label so I can identify them. Make any general adjustments that you usually make. If you do sneak peeks, you can just label those.
2. Select all the photos that you want to outsource for editing.
3. While the photos are selected, go to File>Export As Catalog. When the menu window pops up, choose a location on your computer and give it a new name (for example: “smith-wedding-outsource”). Make sure that only the check-boxes are selected exactly like the image example below. The option for “export negative files” should not be checked. Click Save.

4. Close Lightroom! (after completing step 3, close LR).
5. Go to the location where you just saved the catalog in step 3, select all the items, and compress them (right click>compress to zip file). This will create a compressed folder; this is the folder that needs to be sent to me. Note: you might see 3 or 4 items, either amount is ok.

IMPORTANT: while you wait for your order to be delivered, do not mess with the raw files, do not rename or change the location of the raw files, don’t mess with the folders containing your raw files or change their location. This is important because when you receive the edited catalog back, it needs to sync back to the raw files in your drive. Any changes to the names or locations of the raw files will prevent the catalog from syncing back. If you accidentally run into this issue, email me so I can help you solve it but there will be a $35 fee because it will take some time.
